People love responsive design. And it's also costeffective for
the business.

With responsive website design, you don't need to spend time and money on designing and developing the user interfaces for each new gadget on the market.

Advantages of responsive website design

We live in a mobile world. Most SaaS companies focus not only on the desktop but also on mobile experiences. People use their smartphones to access SaaS apps. But this is not the only reason you should design a responsive website.

More traffic

Responsive websites have a better user experience, hence people stay on them longer. Time on site, page load time, and bounce rate are Google ranking factors. By making your website responsive, you increase its usability, speed, and lower the bounce rate. This results in a higher Google ranking and more traffic.

Cheaper maintenance

After you launch a website, it will require additional testing and maintenance. When it's responsive, you will only have to support one website, as opposed to having to maintain both a desktop version and a mobile version. Responsive design means spending less time on maintenance and a lower budget.

Higher conversions

A responsive website is a key to converting new customers. Some people will learn about your product from their mobile devices or tablets. When they're ready to get a free trial, you don't want them to get redirected to a device-specific website. Offer the best usability for your visitors, and this will reflect in your conversions.

Frequently asked questions

If you have questions that are not listed here, send them to us via email.

How does responsive design differ from a mobile-friendly website?

"Mobile-friendly" means website content is accessible and usable to visitors on mobile devices. Such designs do not change based on the device a visitor is using. Unlike a mobile-friendly website, a responsive website has dynamic content that changes based on the screen size of the device. For example, if there is a three-column layout on the desktop, it may change into a two-column layout to perfectly fit a mobile device’s screen.

What’s the difference between responsive and adaptive design?

Responsive design is one layout that changes based on the target device. It uses CSS media queries to modify styles. Adaptive web design is different because it uses several static layouts for multiple screen sizes. When you're working with adaptive design, you generally use 6 common screen width:
320
480
760
960
1200
1600.
Adaptive design requires more work on the designer's part as we have to design layouts for a minimum of six widths.

How do I know if my website is mobile responsive?

Take the following steps:
Open your website in the browser.
Position your cursor along the right edge of the browser window, and resize the window down to the size of a mobile phone display.
If the layout changes based on your browser window size, it means your site is responsive.
If the content on the right side is simply hidden rather than resized, your website is adaptive, but not responsive. Amazon.com, for example, is adaptive. See how it's removing the right-side content when you're resizing it?

Does the mobile version of my website count as responsive?

Not really. Mobile versions of websites are separate websites that are shown to mobile users. For example, the website m.facebook.com is a mobile version of facebook.com. A responsive website is a single website that reformats according to the device and screen on which it’s being viewed.

What do I lose if my website is not mobile responsive?

The only thing you lose is users. First, they will have difficulty finding your website. Google prefers responsive design over websites that have separate versions for desktop and mobile, so your competitors with responsive websites have a better chance to attract your target traffic. Second, your website visitors are likely to go away once they get a poor user experience.

How long does it take to make my existing website responsive, and how much will it cost?

This depends much on your website, it's features and design elements. If you want to know more about our prices, check out Eleken pricing models.

If I make my website responsive, will it open with older devices?

Absolutely.

Do you use templates for creating responsive web designs?

We do use responsive templates for creating websites without any coding. If this is your type of project, the platform we recommend is Webflow. We have a large experience working with Webflow and can create a responsive design that looks fully custom.
